Nebraska City Municipal Code Book, Chapter 18, Article II

DUTIES (for complete description, see the Municipal Code):

18-23. The board of health shall enact rules and regulations to safeguard the health of the people within the city, not included in and not in conflict with any existing provisions of this Code, state law or city ordinance, which rules and regulations, when published in book or pamphlet form and three (3) copies thereof filed with the city clerk, and any amendments thereto, when so published and filed, are hereby incorporated by reference as a part of this article, as provided by law.

18-25. The board of health shall have such powers and shall perform such duties as are prescribed by state law, this Code or city ordinances, rules and regulations.

APPOINTMENT & COMPOSITION:

18-19. The board of health shall consist of five (5) members: The mayor, who shall be chairperson, a physician, who shall be medical advisor, the chief of police, who shall be secretary and quarantine officer, and two other members, who shall be appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the council.
