Emergency Medical Technician – The City of Nebraska City has an opening for Part-time EMT for shift work.
We are seeking experienced EMT’s to join our department in expanding our team. In this position, you will provide pre-hospital emergency care and life support to patients on scene, during ambulance transport serving 911’s and Medical Transfers. He/she will be required to perform EMS daily duties such as: equipment inventory and resupply, simple vehicle maintenance and repairs, vehicle operations, assist training members of the Fire & Rescue Department and public education. Successful applicant must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License without restrictions, current valid state provider certifications, and current BLS CPR card. Applicant must be able to work as a team to achieve the highest quality of patient care, efficient day to day station duties, daily shift training and other duties set for by command. New employees will be required to go through a probationary period and complete FTO program. You should be passionate about saving lives, talented with triage, and can remain level-headed in highly stressful situations.

Youth Services Manager – Morton-James Public Library
The City of Nebraska City is hiring a full-time Youth Services Manager at the Morton-James Public Library (MJPL) to oversee all library services offered, from birth through 18 and caregivers. This position is under the supervision of the Library Director.
The core responsibility of this position will be to facilitate consistent and exceptional library services for youth. The Youth Services Manager oversees a collections budget plus a programming budget. Year-round programs are offered to educate, inspire, and entertain. Manager participates in outreach and networks with schools and other organizations that serve youth and teens. This position also assists with some technical services.
We serve Nebraska City (nebraskacityne.gov) and the surrounding areas by providing access to over 62,272 physical materials, digital resources, information, and programming to satisfy the educational and recreational needs of our great community.
The Youth Services Manager pay range is on an 8 step pay plan beginning at $16.81/hr. This position includes a benefits package with employee paid health insurance, paid-time-off, and paid holidays.
Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree in Library Science or in related field preferred. Three years of library or related experience requested.
