Paramedic Manager – The City of Nebraska City provides exceptional emergency medical services to our community. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, innovation, and compassionate care. Position Summary: The Paramedic Manager will oversee the daily operations of our paramedic staff, ensuring high-quality emergency care and compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage paramedic personnel, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement protocols and procedures to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
- Monitor and analyze response times and patient outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to enhance service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Provide ongoing education and support for staff to ensure continuous professional development.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Paramedic in good standing per HHS Rule and Regulation Title 172 NAC 11.
- Minimum of graduation from high school or GED equivalent, with bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency medical services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- The Paramedic must possess a valid Basic Life Support Card (Adult and Pediatric CPR), Advanced Life Support Card (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Card (PALS).
- Strong knowledge of EMS operations and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions.

- Certified Ambulance Coder
- Certified Ambulance Compliance Officer
- Certified Ambulance Privacy Officer
- CPR/ACLS/PALS Instructor or equivalent

Paramedic – The City of Nebraska City has an opening for a Full Time Paramedic. The Paramedic will work 24-hour shifts and will respond to call-back status on coordinated days off. Position will be required to provide patient care consistent with protocol along with daily duties such as: equipment inventory and resupply, simple vehicle maintenance and repairs, and public education. Successful applicant must be 18 years of age or older, possess at least a High School Diploma or GED, possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License without restrictions, a valid Nebraska Paramedic License, a valid BLS Card, a valid ACLS Card, and a valid PALS card. Police Patrol Officer/Lateral Officer – The Nebraska City Police Department, a Civil Service Department, is currently accepting applications for Police Officer (Entry-Level or Certified). We are seeking individuals with integrity who are committed to public service, dedicated and professional, with a willingness and compassion to work together with the citizens of Nebraska City to maintain a healthy and safe community.
Eligibility Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED
- 21 years of age or older
- No serious misdemeanors or felony convictions
- Testing to include physical fitness test as required by NLETC, written exam, oral interviews, extensive background check, and psychological interview
- Officers certified in Nebraska will be granted lateral entry upon completion of FTO program (wage dependent on years of experience)
- Officers certified out-of-state will be granted lateral entry upon successful completion of NLETC requirements for reciprocity certification and FTO.
- Residency requirement is a 30-minute response time
Benefits and Perks:
- Vacation: 80.08 vacation hours per year, with the opportunity to earn additional vacation after 5, 10, and 15 years of service
- Sick Leave: Cumulative to 960 hours. Payout of 50% over 960 hours at end of year.
