Police Officer
The City of Nebraska City (Population 7300) is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officers. Certification is preferred, however is not a requirement. Applications will be accepted from now until 5:00 p.m. on April 21st, 2023.
Applicants must be a Citizen of the United States, at least 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate, and hold a valid driver’s license. No current or past domestic violence violations. And no D.W.I /D.U.I.’s within the last two years. The City does require a 30-minute residence response restriction.
Salary range: $43,500.00 /$59,700.00. Certified Officer’s salary will be based upon experience. Any non-certified applicants, must meet all requirements for admission into the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training. Test of Adult Basic Education (T.A.B.E.), if not already taken and passed, must be done so prior to May 1st, 2023.

EMT – The City of Nebraska City has an opening for a Full Time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). The EMT will work 24-hour shifts and will respond to call-back status on coordinated days off. Position will be required to provide patient care consistent with protocol along with daily duties such as: equipment inventory and resupply, simple vehicle maintenance and repairs, and public education. Successful applicant must be 18 years of age or older, possess at least a High School Diploma or GED, possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License without restrictions, a valid Nebraska EMT License and a valid BLS Card. Successful applicant must reside in Nebraska City within 3 months of hire.
