Nebraska City Municipal Code Book, Chapter 33, Article VII, Division 1
A DUTIES (for complete description, see the Municipal Code):
33-112. It shall be the responsibility of the board to study, investigate, council and develop a written plan for the care, preservation, trimming, planting, replanting, removal or disposition of trees and shrubs in parks, on public right-of-ways and in other public areas. Such plan will be presented to the city commission and upon their acceptance and approval shall constitute the official comprehensive tree plan for the City of Nebraska City, Nebraska. The board shall review annually and update, if needed, the comprehensive city tree plan. The board shall prepare and present an annual work plan to the city commission for their acceptance and approval. The board, when requested by the city commission, shall consider, investigate, make finding, report and recommend upon any special matter or question coming within the scope of its work.
APPOINTMENT & COMPOSITION:
33-109. There is hereby created and established a city tree board for the City of Nebraska City, Nebraska, which shall consist of five (5) members, citizens and residents of this city, who shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of this commission.
TERM:
33-110. The terms of the five (5) persons appointed to the tree board by the mayor shall be for three (3) years except that in every third year only one (1) member shall be appointed or reappointed, and in all other years two (2) members shall be appointed or reappointed. In the event that a vacancy shall occur during the term of any member, his or her successor shall be appointed to fill the unexpired portion of the term.
