Meeting Times: First and third Monday of each month

Holiday Schedule:

• If a scheduled meeting falls on a recognized holiday,
  the meeting will be automatically rescheduled.
• Rescheduled meetings will take place on the
  next regular business day at 6:00 p.m.

Structure & Governance

• The City of Nebraska City is governed by a five-member City Council.

• Nebraska City operates under a Commission form of government, which is unique within the State of Nebraska.

• Under this form of government:

  • Each of the five Council members serves both
    legislative and administrative roles.

• The Commission form of government is governed by
  Nebraska state law, as outlined in:

  • Nebraska Revised Statutes §§ 19-401 to 19-434

• The authority and responsibilities of the individual Council
  members are defined in:

  • Nebraska Revised Statutes §§ 16-312 to 16-316

  • Nebraska Revised Statutes § 19-415
