The City of Nebraska City has taken measures to adjust its operations in response to the Coronavirus (CoVid-19) for the purpose of helping to slow down, if not prevent, the spread of this virus. The following information is a compilation of these measures. Please know that these measures are intended to be temporary – only to exist as long as deemed necessary for the purpose stated. They are therefore subject to change.
The following information is as of April 10, 2020.
- City Hall
- Restricted access to the City Hall. Citizens who wish to conduct business are encouraged to first call City Hall and attempt to conduct this business over the phone. If coming to City Hall, please enter the north entrance and staff will serve you while maintaining 6′ social distance.
- Nebraska City Utilities
- Offices are closed to the general public.
- Citizens who wish to conduct business are encouraged to either call their offices or visit their website at nebraskacityutilities.com.

- Nebraska City Police Department
- When possible and appropriate, providing services over the phone instead of in-person.
- Nebraska City Fire, Rescue and EMS
- Access to the Fire, Rescue and EMS Departments is restricted, please contact either via phone or through City Hall.
- Personal Protective Equipment being used on all calls.
- Specialized training occurring to address possible CoVid-19 situations.
- Burn Permits issued over the phone or via email.
- Wildwood Golf Course
- Restriction to no more than four (4) per tee time and encouraged that social distancing be maintained.
- Tee times will be at a minimum of 15 minute intervals to help maintain social distancing and group size.
- Flag Sticks can be pulled at the risk of the golfers. Covid-19 Warning signs are placed on tee boxes, restrooms and club house reminding golfers that flag sticks are not sanitized and are at their risk. There are also noodles on the bottom of the holes to allow balls to drop partially in the cup for golfers who do not want to touch the flag sticks.
- Numbers in Pro Shop are restricted to less than 10 at a time.
- Pro Shop will only be serving pre-packaged food.
- Carts are sanitized before and after every use. Club house and restrooms are being sanitized hourly.

- Morton-James Public Library
- Access restricted to the facility’s lobby and the Kimmel Gallery for new material browsing.
- Library patrons wishing to browse new materials must wear mask and use hand sanitizer.
- Patrons are encouraged to call ahead or use the online portals to reserve materials.
- Patrons who visit the Library can enter at the southern entrance to pick up their reserved items.
- Reserved materials will be brought to the patron, if not already sitting in the lobby with your name.
- New Library cards are being issued in a contactless manner. A Library card number is necessary to use any of the electronic services or to check out physical materials.
- MJPL’s online offerings continue with online databases, free remote access to Ancestry Library edition (until the end of March), Overdrive (electronic books and e-audio) and Kanopy (streaming film service).
- 24 hour Wi-Fi can be accessed from the Library parking lot.
- The Library will only be open Monday – Thursday 9-6 and Friday 9-5 until further notice.

- The Library has discontinued making copies and other services that are difficult to provide with the six (6) foot distance requirement.
- All materials are cleaned and sanitized after a one week quarantine. All materials should be returned to the outside drop box.

- Other
- Other Departments and Services not listed above are maintaining normal operations, but following CDC Guidance, particularly gathering size, social distancing, and good hygiene.
