Notice of road closures due to OPPD rail line work
Sept. 23, 2024 (Omaha, Neb.) – Omaha Public Power District conducts regular maintenance work on its Arbor Rail Line to help ensure safe and timely coal deliveries to its Nebraska City Station. As part of this work, the following four street closures will be taking place where railroad tracks intersect roadways:
- Tuesday, Oct. 1 (beginning at 7 a.m.) through Wednesday, Oct. 2
3rd Terrace – This crossing will reopen the morning of Thursday, October 3. - Wednesday, Oct. 2 (beginning at 7 a.m.) through Thursday, Oct. 3
Industrial Road – This crossing will reopen the morning of Friday, October 4. - Tuesday, Oct. 15 (beginning at 7 a.m.) through Wednesday, Oct. 16
Steinhart Park Road – This crossing will reopen the morning of Thursday, Oct. 17. - Wednesday, Oct. 16 (beginning at 7 a.m.) through Thursday, Oct. 17
15th Street – This crossing will reopen the morning of Friday, Oct. 18.
At each of these locations, work crews will be replacing the rail sections, ties, existing crossing panels and asphalt road approaches to allow safer passage of trains and vehicles over the crossings.
OPPD wants to thank our customers in these areas for their patience as we work proactively to ensure safety, as well as adequate fuel supplies. These efforts will help us keep reliable power flowing to your community and communities throughout our 13-county service territory.
